This vignette describes how the language supportive pedagogy (LSP) approach, developed through The
Language Supportive Teaching and Textbooks Project, was implemented at the secondary school level in
Tanzania, after the switch from education through the medium of Kiswahili to English. This project
aimed to facilitate content learning among students whose English proficiency is relatively low by
developing their subject specific language.
